Day 2, Thursday, October 17, 2013 Ethics & Combining Methods

Ethics and Legal Marketing
Competition is tough, and some lawyers will do anything to get ahead, even if it tippy-toes the ethical line, or goes way over it. In this section, Tiftickjian will show good and bad examples of marketing, and how to make sure you preserve your integrity, good will, and law license for the long haul.
Combining New School and Old School Marketing
Marketing is a practice that is frowned upon by many lawyers of previous generations, but the irony is that these are the same lawyers who consistently, and successfully, market themselves and their firm. They just do it in a different way, excluding websites, billboards, and shameless puffery. Not only are the internet and social media important, but so is pounding the pavement and networking with other attorneys and law firms outside of one’s comfort zone. In this presentation, Mr. Tiftickjian will discuss new-school and old-school marketing strategies, and how to make it a practice to combine both for the most bang-for-your-buck.
Work-Life Balance
You come first, then your family, and then your law firm. Despite the work it takes to run a successful practice, Tiftickjian has achieved a healthy work-life balance to find time for his spouse, children, and hobbies. When the practice of law can be overwhelming, it doesn’t have to be. In this portion, Tiftickjian will discuss strategies to cope with work-stress and suggestions to do better for your clients, and your family, without kiling yourself.
